以前の常識

・眼鏡による近視進行抑制効果は，統計的に有意だが，臨床的には不十分であった．

・治療機序は，網膜後方へのデフォーカスを取り除くことであった．

現在の常識

・臨床的治療として有用な抑制効果が得られている．

・治療機序は，網膜前方へ第2のフォーカスを組み込むことである．

・世界3大レンズメーカーはすべて，defocus incorporated multiple segments（DIMS）レンズの市販を開始した．
