 眼表面疾患に伴う不快感や痛みは,患者のquality of life(QOL)を著しく低下させる自覚症状の1つである。近年,角膜知覚にかかわる研究やこれら症状に対処できる点眼薬の開発が,世界中で活発に行われている。本稿では,角膜知覚において重要な分子であり,治療薬開発における標的の1つにもなっているTRPチャネルについて概説する。
