睡眠と夢の役割

　神経-精神分析学Neuro-Psychoanalysis（N-P）は，脳と心を橋渡ししようと試みる新たな分野である。ここに紹介するのは夢見とその睡眠，覚醒，そして無意識との関係についてのN-Pの考え方である。精神分析医たち^1,2）は，われわれが無意識のうちに困難を感ずるとき，夢が活性化されて現実における問題の解決を助けるのであるとの仮説を提案している。特に，夢は「先送りされた活動計画」を意味し，あとで危険を探索し，それを減少させるような方向で実現される。そのような活動計画は夢を見る個人と夢を見る種の両方にとって適応的である^3,4）。夢見の間に学習したことはレム睡眠が活性化することにより強化される^5）。本稿ではそのような考えをレビューし，精神分析の臨床例について考察する。
