結核─終わらない脅威とその対策

　結核は，結核菌（Mycobacterium tuberculosis）によって引き起こされる慢性感染症である。本菌が1982年にRobert Koch博士により紹介された後130年以上を経た現在でも，結核は数多くの患者と死亡者を出し，単独の病原体による感染症としては最も重要なものの一つと考えられている。本稿では，結核の現状とその対策について解説する。
