要旨

　近年のコンピュータ技術の発達に伴って放射線治療はめざましい進歩をとげた。外部照射では，CT画像からターゲットの三次元的な位置情報を取得し，多分割絞りがターゲットに合わせた照射野を形成し，正確に照射を行う，いわゆる三次元原体放射線治療（three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy；3DCRT）が主力となっている。3DCRTにより，多くの放射線を前立腺に投与し，かつ副作用を低減化することが可能となった。放射線治療は前立腺癌の治療において今後ますます重要な役割を果たすようになると思われる。
