要約：尿路結石，体内留置カテーテルなどを原因とするバイオフィルム感染症は抗菌薬を投与しても見かけ上の除菌が得られず，体内異物を除去しない限り感染症は完治しない。エンピリックに抗菌薬を投与する場合にはβラクタマーゼ阻害剤配合ペニシリン，カルバペネム，キノロンなどの静脈投与が推奨されるが，薬剤感受性検査の結果が得られしだい，起炎菌をターゲットとした抗菌スペクトラムの狭い薬剤に変更する。抗菌薬投与期間は患者の状態，起炎菌消退の程度にもよるが，1～3週間を目安とする。
