間質性膀胱炎とは何か―過敏性膀胱の提案

要旨　間質性膀胱炎とは，頻尿・尿意亢進・尿意切迫感・膀胱痛などの症状を呈する難治性の膀胱の疾患で，決して稀ではない。その臨床的な定義は，上記の症状と特徴的な膀胱鏡所見（ハンナ潰瘍または膀胱拡張後の出血）および他疾患の否定の3条件である。しかし，間質性膀胱炎は疾患名としてだけでなく症状症候群名としても使用され，混乱を招いている，そこで，間質性膀胱炎にみられる症状症候群を意味する用語として，過敏性膀胱を提案したい。そうすれば，間質性膀胱炎を「過敏性膀胱の原因となる膀胱の病態の1つ」として理解することができる。
