1　診療の概要

　ナットクラッカー現象とは，腹部大動脈と上腸間膜動脈（SMA）の間を走行する左腎静脈（LRV）が両動脈に強く挟まれることで血流のうっ滞を生じ，左腎出血や左側腹部痛をはじめとした諸症状を呈する病態をいう。LRVへの圧迫は，しばしば体位で増強，軽減するため，これらの症状は間欠的であることも多い。

　思春期から20代，30代の，瘦せて背の高い人によくみられる^1）。これは後腹膜脂肪が少ないことと関連している可能性がある。男女比は報告によりまちまちである。
