要旨　小児膀胱尿管逆流症（vesicoureteral reflux：VUR）に対する逆流防止術は多様化し，内視鏡的に充塡物質を尿管口へ注入する手術や，後腹膜アプローチあるいは経膀胱的アプローチによる鏡視下手術も行われるようになってきているが，現在本邦においては開放手術が最も一般的に行われている。基本的に，粘膜下トンネルを作成する手術方法に関しては従来からの方法を踏襲しているが，最近では手術手技のみでなく，使用する吸収糸，カテーテル，被覆材，手術用器械や，術者が用いる手術用ルーペの導入，麻酔の方法など，さまざまな点において工夫や改良が加えられた結果，手術成績の向上，合併症の発生率低下，術後の患児の苦痛の軽減，入院期間の短縮などにつながっている。
