セミナー 基礎研究は面白い―私の体験・3

要約 日本では大学に在籍する医師(M.D.)が,希望すれば大学院進学などの手段で基礎研究をする機会が与えられ,そのほとんどが博士(Ph.D.)を取得できる。しかし,米国と比べてその価値は実際いかがなものか疑問もある。臨床につながるような基礎研究を考案して実行することがM.D. の使命と言えよう。本稿では,筆者が米国留学を通して感じた点や,現在行っている基礎研究の面白さを解説して今後の基礎研究のあるべき姿を探る。
