生殖医療に対する泌尿器科医の立ち位置

要旨　近年，男性不妊に注目が集まっている。男性不妊患者は，同世代の糖尿病患者よりも多く存在するため，泌尿器科医としては診療レパートリーに組み入れるべき疾患である。しかしながら，男性不妊を専門とする医師数が極端に少ないため，診療・教育に支障をきたしている。男性不妊の多くが，挙児手段としては顕微授精（ICSI）を必要としているが，次世代への影響に関しては危惧される点が多数存在している。今後，診断・治療に泌尿器科医がより積極的に参画できる環境の構築のために，今なにが必要であるか，そして男性不妊治療の未来予想を，自験例を元に概説した。
