要旨　人工尿道括約筋埋込手術は，2012年4月から保険適応となった。人工尿道括約筋埋込手術は尿道括約筋機能が失われた症例に対して有効であり，前立腺全摘術後の腹圧性尿失禁症例に対する対処として，尿失禁が重症な症例においては人工尿道括約筋埋込手術を考慮することが必要である。また，人工尿道括約筋が使用されている症例では，尿道カテーテルを留置する際に人工尿道括約筋を開放状態に保つことが必要となる。今後症例が増加することが予想されるため，泌尿器科医として十分な知識を持つ必要がある。
