要旨　幹細胞治療の分野では，体細胞に4種の遺伝子を挿入し万能性分化を有するiPS細胞が注目されているが，その臨床的応用にはまだ克服すべき課題が多い。一方，体性幹細胞の1つとして多能性幹細胞の骨髄幹細胞は半世紀前から移植の形で臨床的に応用されており，すでに多くの臨床実績があり，実用化という点では優位性がある。また，臨床幹細胞治療において泌尿器科領域は非常にアプローチしやすい分野の1つに挙げられている。本稿では，脂肪組織由来幹細胞（ASC）を用いたTR（translational research）研究において，保険収載を目標としたわれわれの取り組みについて概説した。
