泌尿器がん患者への薬物療法における口腔ケアの意義

要旨　がん薬物療法中は，口腔粘膜炎や歯科疾患由来の口腔感染症，薬剤関連顎骨壊死など，治療に付随する合併症が口腔内にも高頻度で発症する。口腔の問題は患者の苦痛となるだけでなく，経口摂取の問題に直結し，また誤嚥性肺炎をはじめさまざまな感染症の源となるなど直接的・間接的にがん治療に悪影響を与える。このような口腔合併症の発症頻度やその重症度は口腔内細菌による影響が少なくないとされており，がん治療開始前から口腔内の衛生状態を良好な状態に維持し，口腔の機能を健全に保つよう支持・管理する「歯科との連携による効果的な口腔機能管理（口腔ケア）」が口腔合併症のリスク軽減に寄与し，症状緩和だけでなく円滑ながん治療を行うための重要な支援となる。
