夜間頻尿の疫学

要旨　夜間頻尿は，「夜間排尿のために1回以上起きなければならないという訴え」と定義されている。臨床的には2回以上がQOLを障害するとして問題視されている。夜間頻尿は，加齢に伴い起こることから，老化現象，あるいは単なる泌尿器科疾患であるとして扱われてきた。しかし，最近の疫学調査を通して肥満，糖尿病，高血圧，不眠，閉塞型睡眠時無呼吸症候群，慢性腎臓病といった内科疾患，特に生活習慣病と強く関連していることが報告されており，プライマリ・ケア疾患としては確固たる地位を築きつつある。夜間頻尿が生活習慣病発症予測因子になり得るかどうか，さらなる疫学調査が必要である。
