要旨　2002年の国際禁制学会（ICS）からの“The standardization of terminology in nocturia：report from the standardization subcommittee of the International Continence Society”によれば^1），全日多量（global polyuria）の診断基準は24時間尿量が40mL/kg体重以上であり，その原因として糖尿病に代表される浸透圧利尿（solute diuresis）や尿崩症（diabetes insipidus）における水利尿（water diuresis）を鑑別し，尿崩症の場合そのタイプを診断すると記載されている。合理的な診断が適切な治療に直結する。
