前立腺肥大症に伴う夜間頻尿

要旨　加齢とともに前立腺肥大症の罹患率は増加し，下部尿路閉塞に伴う症状がQOLを低下させる。前立腺肥大症は中高齢男性の下部尿路症状の原因となり，その中でも夜間頻尿が最もQOLに影響を及ぼす症状である。夜間頻尿は夜間尿量の増加と1回蓄尿量の減少が原因であり，前立腺肥大症では下部尿路閉塞による膀胱蓄尿障害が夜間頻尿をもたらすと考えられている。本稿では最近の知見を踏まえ，前立腺肥大症に伴う夜間頻尿の病態，診断，治療について概説する。
