要旨　緩和医療のマニュアルでは，さまざまな泌尿器科的問題に対して，最終的に泌尿器科専門医の意見を聞くことが推奨されている。これは泌尿器科的手技や概念が，症状緩和に重要で，かつ有益である事実を示している。特に内視鏡的手技は侵襲が少なく劇的な効果をあげることがある。また緩和的放射線治療や動脈塞栓術の適応についても同様に，専門家として積極的に関わっていただき，指導を行うことが望まれている。
