以前の常識

・根治的膀胱全摘除術は開腹手術で行い，出血量は1000〜2000mLが通常であった．

・尿路変向も開腹手術で行うのが通常であった．

現在の常識

・根治的膀胱全摘除術は腹腔鏡下ロボット支援手術で行い，膀胱全摘除術単独の出血量は100mL程度に抑えることができる．

・尿路変向も腹腔鏡下ロボット支援手術で行い，回腸導管や新膀胱造設も行えるようになっている．
