【直腸癌外科：Gerota，Quenu，Cuneoの直腸リンパ流研究】

　前回はGrovesの大網切除について考えてきました．それが胃癌リンパ節郭清の本道にあるのかそこからの逸脱であるのか今もって結論は下されていませんが，少なくともわが国では腹膜播種の対抗策として実践に応用されてきました．

　今回は再び横道に逸れますが，直腸癌のリンパ節郭清の展開をみていきます．そこには明らかに本道からの逸脱があります．リンパ流研究の理論を無視した臨床の専横があります．理論という羅針盤のない航海に乗り出した結果は，リンパ節郭清の展開のための方向を見失い，その後の長い間，直腸癌の暗黒時代を経過することとなるのです．
