要旨：乳糜胸とは，腸壁より胸管に流入するカイロミクロンやリポプロテインを含んだ白濁したリンパ液が，いろいろな原因によって胸腔内に貯留した状態をいう．乳糜胸は比較的稀な疾患であるが，その原因として，外傷性，非外傷性，腫瘍性などがあり，病態の理解，診断に苦慮することが多い．そこで理解を深めるために，本稿では概念，原因，病態，診断，治療について概説する．
