がん告知と自殺―どんな患者が自殺しやすいか

素朴な疑問

　がんは今では普通の病気であるが，今でも深刻な病気である．インフォームド・コンセントが普及し，がんの「告知」は当たり前のことになったが，患者は医師から「がんです」と言われて，動揺・不安・恐怖・絶望はないのだろうか．がん患者を担当する医師は患者の希死念慮や自殺企図に注意したほうがよいのだろうか．
