◆TMEが普及した現在でも,下部進行直腸癌に対する術前CRTは欧米における標準療法である.
◆術前CRTを行うことによって,わが国で行われてきた予防的側方郭清を省略できる可能性がある.
◆術前CRTによって肛門温存率は改善し,奏効例では非手術も今後は選択肢となりうる可能性がある.
