体格とがん―肥満は死亡率が高いか

素朴な疑問

　2008年度から職場にメタボ健診が導入され，腹囲が大きい人や肥満指数（body mass index：BMI）が高い人は保健指導の候補である．肥満は生活習慣病と関連があり，心臓病や脳卒中による死亡が多いが，がんによる死亡も多いのだろうか．肥満が影響するのはどのようながんであろうか．がんの手術で肥満は術後合併症や手術死亡に影響するのだろうか．
