最近の知見と重要ポイント

□尿道カテーテル留置は，尿路感染症のリスクとなるため24時間以内に可能な限り抜去する．

□尿道カテーテル留置中に尿路感染症と診断されたときは，カテーテルを抜去もしくは交換後に抗菌薬を投与する．

□尿道カテーテルを留置しないことが，尿路感染症の最大の予防策であるが，留置が必要な患者では予防策を徹底する．
