循環血液量の維持―アルブミン投与は有用か

素朴な疑問

　手術患者や救急患者は低アルブミン血症を呈することが多い．血中アルブミンは栄養状態の指標であるだけでなく，膠質浸透圧の維持に重要であり，血液検査でアルブミン値が低いと，アルブミン製剤を投与して補正したくなる．手術患者や救急患者のアルブミン投与は，理論どおりに合併症や死亡を減らして転帰を改善させることができるのだろうか．
