炎症反応の制御―ステロイド投与は有用か

素朴な疑問

　生体にとって手術は「傷害injury」であり，生体は自律神経・ホルモン・サイトカインを総動員して手術に耐え，手術から回復しようとする．手術侵襲が大きいほど生体の反応やダメージは大きく，回復に時間がかかる．ステロイドを使って炎症反応を制御すると，術後の回復は早いのだろうか．周術期にステロイドを投与すると，術後合併症が減るのだろうか．
