がんの早期発見—がん検診は本当に有用か

素朴な疑問
　2007年に策定された「がん対策推進基本計画」に基づき，がんの早期発見・早期治療のためがん検診が行われている．欧米の臨床試験の結果，便潜血検査による大腸がん検診とマンモグラフィによる乳がん検診が大腸がん死亡・乳がん死亡の減少に有効であると評価されたが，がん検診は本当に有用なのだろうか．侵襲的検査や過剰診断の問題はないのだろうか．
