【ポイント】
◆本邦における大腸癌の罹患率は上昇し，それに伴い閉塞性大腸癌に日常診療で接することは多くなってきており，その診療の重要性は増している．
◆大腸ステント留置におけるコツおよびピットフォールを熟知したうえで処置を行うことで，良好な成績が報告されている．
◆欧米の大腸ステントに関するガイドラインでは，手術前の腸管減圧（bridge to surgery：BTS）目的の大腸ステントに関しては標準治療とみなさないとあるが，本邦からの前向き試験の短期成績は良好で，今後その是非を比較試験により検証することが必要である．
