　低位前方切除術に関して，多くの専門書にtotal mesorectal excision（TME）^1）を基本とした直腸授動方法が詳細に解説され，多くの論文に各種の再建方法（端々吻合・端側吻合・J-pouch・transverse coloplasty pouchなど）^2〜4）に関して報告されている．
　しかし，最近のさまざまな縫合・吻合デバイスが選択可能な状況の中で，どのデバイスを使うべきか，また上手に使うにはどうしたら良いのかなど，縫合や吻合についての情報は少ない．
