【ポイント】
◆National Clinical Database(NCD)のフィードバック機能により食道切除術後合併症および死亡率の予測ができ,術前カンファレンスやインフォームド・コンセントに活用できる.
◆一人の経験豊かな外科医よりも,施設として多くの症例を治療しているチーム医療のほうが手術死亡率を下げている可能性が示唆されている.
◆術前治療の種類によらず,胸腔鏡下食道切除術は開胸手術に比べて術後合併症の発症率と手術死亡率が優れているか同等であった.
