胚孵化法（assisted hatching）

　加齢により透明帯の硬化（zona hardening）などの変化が惹起され，胚の孵化過程（hatching）が障害されると考えられている．胚孵化法（assisted hatching）は透明帯の一部を切開する，あるいは穴を開けるなどの処置を施して孵化を促進し，移植胚の着床率改善をはかるために考案された技術である^1）．assisted hatchingの方法は透明帯開孔法（zona opening）あるいは透明帯菲薄法（zona thinning）などであるが，最近は半導体レーザー（1.48μmm diode laser）を用いたレーザー法（laser assisted hatching:LAH）^2）が普及している．半導体レーザーの光線は赤外線領域にあり，細胞のDNA障害を起こしにくいため，安全性が高いと考えられている．しかも大量生産が可能で，従来のレーザー装置に比べて安価である．
