はじめに

　これまでエストロゲンの抗動脈硬化作用を示す数多くの基礎データが報告されてきたが，近年，閉経後女性にホルモン補充療法（HRT）を行っても心筋梗塞の発症が減少しないことが明らかにされた．この背景には患者の合併症による危険因子の存在があり，ピルを処方する際にも注意が喚起される．
