はじめに

　近年，多嚢胞性卵巣症候群（polycystic ovary syndrome : PCOS）の病態形成に耐糖能障害が関与することが注目され，肥満や高アンドロゲン血症などのPCOS発症要因とインスリン抵抗性の関連の分子機序が検討されるようになってきた．本稿では，肥満や耐糖能障害の発症に深く関与し，さらに生殖機能の発現に必須の役割を果たしているレプチンが，PCOSの病態にどのように関与するか，現在までの知見を概説する．
