はじめに

　臍帯に発生する実質性腫瘍はきわめて稀であり，報告症例も限られている^1）．一方，臍帯に生じる嚢胞（真性嚢胞・偽性嚢胞）の報告，ならびにその臨床的意義や先天異常との関連に関する論文は，近年増加傾向にある．

　臍帯腫瘍，臍帯嚢胞とも胎児発育や胎児のwellbeingに何ら影響のない場合も少なくないが，その大きさや発生部位により，臍帯血流を阻害するなどして，胎児の生存を脅かすことがある．また，Wharton膠質の変性・浮腫により生じる偽性嚢胞（pseudocyst）と胎児の先天異常や染色体異常との関連が指摘されており，臍帯に発生する腫瘍性病変の意義について認識することは重要である．
