はじめに

　母体血漿中にはcell-free DNA（cfDNA）が循環しており，その中には胎児由来成分が含まれている．1997年に最初の報告があって以降，PCR法により母体が持たない遺伝子を母体血中で増幅し，胎児の遺伝子診断が行われていたが，2008年，次世代シークエンサーを用いた胎児染色体異常検査が報告され，2010年10月に米国で臨床応用された．本稿では無侵襲的出生前遺伝学的検査（non-invasive prenatal genetic testing : NIPT）の現状について報告する．
