文献概要

●黄体ホルモン（＝プロゲストーゲン）のうち合成されたものをしばしばプロゲスチンと呼ぶが，天然型プロゲステロンと合成の医薬品製剤を合わせてプロゲスチン製剤と称することも多い．

●市販されているプロゲスチン製剤には，単剤とエストロゲンとの合剤がある．合剤には低用量経口避妊薬（oral contraceptive : OC）や低用量エストロゲン─プロゲスチン製剤（low dose estrogen-progestin : LEP）も含まれる．

●各種プロゲスチン製剤には固有の特性があり，それに応じて無月経，機能性子宮出血の診断・治療，黄体賦活，子宮内膜症治療，緊急避妊，OC，月経困難症治療，ホルモン補充療法（hormone replacement therapy : HRT）として使用されている．
