●発達期の環境の変化が,成長後の生活習慣病の発症リスクに影響を及ぼすというdevelopmental origins of health and diseases(DOHaD)学説が提唱されている.

●ゲノムに施されたゲノム以外の情報であるエピゲノムならびに環境因子によるエピゲノムの変容がDOHaD学説の具体的なメカニズムとして注目されている.

●エピゲノムの変容として,DNAのメチル化,クロマチンのリモデリング,non-coding RNA,エピジェネティックな不均等性(asymmetry)などが知られている.
