Seromucinous borderline tumorとは（図1）

　卵巣に発生する漿液粘液性境界悪性腫瘍（seromucinous borderline tumor : SMBT）はWHO分類第4版（2014）で新たに設けられた分類で，旧WHO分類（2003）での「内頸部様粘液性境界悪性腫瘍（endocervical-like MBT）」と「混合型上皮性境界悪性腫瘍（mixed epithelial BT）」に相当する．

　その経緯は，はじめは粘液上皮を含む漿液性境界悪性腫瘍（serous borderline tumor : SBT）として1986年にBostwick DGら^1）によって報告された．その後，1988年にRutgersら^2）により粘液性境界悪性腫瘍（mucinous borderline tumor : MBT）の内頸部型（endocervical-like）に位置付けられた．
