●鉄欠乏性貧血は，特に30〜40歳台の成人女性に頻繁にみられる．

●鉄欠乏の診断には，血清フェリチン値とトランスフェリン飽和度の低値の両方を重視する．

●先進国では食生活の改善により鉄欠乏の頻度が減少している．
