1．はじめに

　母胎と胎児の間には血液胎盤関門が存在し，その役割を担う臓器が胎盤である．胎盤は，ガス交換や代謝物質交換の場であり，ホルモン分泌など様々な刺激により，多様に変化する臓器である．近年，筆者らがクローニングしたヒト胎盤コレクチン1(collectin placenta 1＝CL-P1)は，胎盤での発現が高く，その推測される生理的な役割について紹介する．
