　細胞診の本来の目的は悪性腫瘍のスクリーニングであるが，時に一部の感染症では細胞像から明らかになることがあり，今回は感染症の病原体の種類から見た細胞診における診断の可能性とその特徴について述べた．従来のPapanicolaou染色ではある程度の推測にならざるを得ないが，封入体は1つの特徴像である．また，細胞転写法により特異抗体を用いた免疫染色は感染症の細胞診断に有用である．〔臨床検査　51：177-183，2007〕
