細胞診によるHPV感染症の診断

　HPV感染における細胞所見については多くの報告がある．Meiselsらが報告したkoilocytotic atypiaはHPV感染に特異的な所見として紹介されているが出現頻度が低く，またそれ以外の細胞所見は，HPV以外の感染症にも出現するためHPV検出を目的としたスクリーニングとして有用ではない．しかし細胞診は形態学的変化の観察に有効であることから，HPV-DNA検査を併用することでより確実に異形成病変および子宮頸癌を診断することができると考える．
