ウイルス感染と発癌

文献購入ページに移動 ヒトの約15%の癌はウイルス性であり,これまでEpstein-Barrウイルス,ヒトパピローマウイルス,B型肝炎ウイルス,C型肝炎ウイルス,ヒトT細胞白血病ウイルス1型,ヒトヘルペスウイルス8型/カポジ肉腫関連ウイルスの6種類のヒト癌ウイルスが知られていたが,最近新たに発見されたメルケル細胞ポリオーマウイルス(MCV)を加えて7種類となった.癌ウイルスは,細胞増殖能の亢進(Rbの機能抑制),アポトーシスからの回避(p53の機能抑制),そして,細胞の不死化(テロメラーゼの活性化)の三つのステップにより,細胞を癌化する.ウイルスの癌遺伝子産物は発癌には必要であるが,さらに他の因子や宿主遺伝子の変異も必要である.
