 正中神経刺激による体性感覚誘発脳磁界(somatosensory evoked fields;SEF)の初期皮質反応が低周波成分N20mと600Hz高周波振動(high frequency oscillations;HFOs)から成り立っていることについて解説した.N20m成分と体性感覚HFOsの発生起源についての仮説とHFOsの臨床応用に関する最近の研究をレビューするとともに,今後の展望について考察を加えた.
