化学療法薬

　化学療法とは，ある種の化学物質の選択毒性を利用して疾患の原因となっている微生物や癌細胞の増殖を阻害し，死滅させる治療法である．例えば，感染症治療に用いられる化学療法薬として，いわゆる“抗生物質”が用いられる．これは，微生物が産生する物質のうち，他の微生物の発育・増殖を抑制する物質である．化学的に修飾や変換したもの(誘導体)もこれに含まれるが，人工的に化学合成された物質については，抗生物質と呼ぶことができない．したがって，“抗菌薬”とは抗生物質とそうでないものの総称となる．

　本稿では，臨床で使用される数種の代表的な薬剤の特徴および臨床検査値への影響などについて概説する．
