●黄色ブドウ球菌は多様なエンテロトキシンを産生する．現在，古典型SEA～SEEに加え，新型SEG～SElXまで報告されている．

●ブドウ球菌食中毒の診断は細菌を検査するだけでなく，本菌が産生するエンテロトキシンの検査と型別が必要である．

●古典型と新型エンテロトキシン遺伝子を包括的に検出できるmultiplex PCRが開発されている．
