Point

●AMS（antimicrobial stewardship）には，抗菌薬を有効活用しつつ継続的に管理していくという意味が込められている．

●AMSの目的は，抗菌薬の適正使用を通して患者アウトカムを改善し，副作用を防止し，耐性菌発現・増加を抑制し，結果として医療経済性を高めることである．

●欧米にはAMSを実践するためのガイドラインがあり，効果的に活動するためのプログラム（ASPs）や活動のためのチーム（AST）構成などが示されている．

●わが国の感染症や感染対策の現状は，欧米のそれとは大きく異なるので，欧米の単なる模倣ではなく，わが国の実情に適正した独自のASPsとその実践が求められる．

●わが国のAMSの推進のためには，限られた人的リソースの活用と，同時にその育成が急務である．
