●DLBCL, NOSは免疫染色アルゴリズムを用いて，胚中心B細胞型（GCB）型とnon-GCB型に分類する．

●2008年版の“EBV-positive DLBCL of the elderly”は，2016年版でEBV^＋ large B-cell lymphomas（EBウイルス陽性大細胞型Bリンパ腫）と改名され，EBV^＋ mucocutaneous ulcerは独立した疾患カテゴリーとなった．

●2008年版の“B-cell lymphoma, unclassifiable, with features intermediate between DLBCL and BL”は，2016年版ではMYCとBCL2 and/or BCL6の遺伝子再構成をもつ“high-grade B-cell lymphoma (HGBL), with MYC and BCL2 and/or BCL6 rearrangements”と，再構成をもたない“HGBL, NOS”に分かれた
