POINT

●感染性心内膜炎（IE）の診断では，心臓超音波検査は重要な役割を果たしており，IEを疑った場合には必ず施行を検討する必要がある．

●IEの治療は長期間にわたるため，原因微生物の同定は非常に重要である．原因微生物の同定のためには，血液培養の採取が重要である．

●抗菌薬治療は原因微生物ごとに，長期間，経静脈的に，殺菌性の抗菌薬を用いるのが原則である．

●外科的手術の主な適応は，心不全，制御不能な感染，塞栓予防の3つである．

●IEは治療後のフォローも重要であり，再発の早期発見・予防のために患者教育を行うことも重要である．
